April 4, 2016 - Conference Week!

Hi!

WASN'T CONFERENCE AMAZING!? I'll answer that - yes. Yes it was. If I could recommend any talk to anyone, it would be Elder Hallstrom's.

Never forget who you are! It is the most basic of all doctrine that we teach. It is also one of the most important.

We had a pretty good week, too! On Monday we were able to teach C., who is just awesome and coming along great. WE taught him about the answer to the question, "Where do we go after this life?" Portion of The Plan of Salvation. He was actually in Salt Lake for Conference and got to go to the Conference Center for the Priesthood session!

Tuesday we had exchanges! I stayed in Fairmont and Elder Carter, our District Leader, came down with me, while Elder Casey headed up to Mannington with Elder Furrows! Elder Carter and I had a great time together. We also got to teach a ton of people! L. P., L. B., and C.! We had an especially good lesson with L. B.. We brought President H. with us, who is a convert himself, so we thought it would be a good experience. We did have a good lesson! We challenged him to spend time in the scriptures every day so that he can earn his own testimony. President H. also left him with an Ensign about gaining a testimony about the Prophet Joseph Smith. To end the night, we taught C. with Brother Ha., and that was a great lesson too! We challenged him to decide what he needs to do to receive all the blessings that he wants in his life. It was a really good day.

Wednesday was a little slow, but that night we did rescue a dog from the middle of the road. The police never sent someone to get him though, and we had to get home, so we left the cute little thing with someone else. It was a fun, interesting experience. Got to talk to a few people because of it! Talk with everyone! :D Met a cool Muslim guy too.

On Friday we had District Meeting! Elder Carter did a good job. It was mostly a lot of business from President Salisbury that we needed to cover, conduct of teaching and procedural stuff, but we did have a really good discussion on all the points that he had to cover. Lots to learn! We went to lunch afterwards at Pufferbelly's, which was awesome. They have some really good Ice Cream. I also got a wedding announcement from Elder Treven Mortensen! You go brother!

Also on Saturday we had a lesson with L. and his home teacher, W., who actually went to school with him, so that's pretty cool. We taught him the Restoration as the first of his official "New Member Lessons."

Saturday started with conference! It was so amazing. Too much to really express adequately. I hope none of you had to miss any of it, but if you did, go watch it as soon as you can! http://www.lds.org Don't miss out on the wonderful Spirit that comes with General Conference. It is worth anything you need to sacrifice to watch it. Especially the modern day Apostles that speak to the WORLD.

That was the gist of the week! Thank you all for reading! I appreciate it. I dearly love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!

Love,
Elder Brax Johnson
