Transfers and the End of an Era

Hello everybody! I'm glad this week has an extra day, because not a lot happened. Well, that isn't totally true, a lot happened, but nothing super exciting to report (until later in the week).

Wednesday was an interesting day. It was supposed to be awesome! We had lessons with L, A, N and her sister A, and K and J. 4 lessons! Crazy sauce! So, we first go with Brother Linger to L's house. Oh, she has the flu. :( #1. Next, we are eating lunch. A. texts us. She's in MorganTown (Home of WVU for you sports people) for the afternoon. #2. Oh well! Just about to leave for N & A. Her dad is in the hospital. :((( #3. K & J! We are doing the stop smoking workshop with them! They expressed a lot of interest in wanting to do it, so we did! They didn't make it very far. :( 45 minutes I think after we left. I'm starting to lose faith in that program. Oh well though! Such is missionary life, right? Roll with the punches!

Thursday had a pretty cool experience. We were going to see a former investigator we stop by and talk to every once in a while named DC. He had a stroke a few months ago, so he really can't progress anymore, but he likes our company. As we get there, we meet his lawn care person, C, and start talking to him. We talked to him for a really long time, like 45 minutes or something crazy like that. He was kind of interested, kind of not. He was the first person I ever met that didn't believe in the New Testament. I'm not sure how you can believe in the Old Testament and NOT the New, but whatever. The reason it was cool was just to hear some big concerns other than polygamy, Native Americans, gold plates, and stuff like that. We actually got to answer questions! Well, Elder Fielding got to answer questions anyway. The whole conversation was on the bible, which is Elder Fielding's area of expertise.

Friday we had Zone Meeting. It was pretty cool to see the other missionaries in the zone that we don't see a lot. We found out that the Buckhannon District (Buckhannon Elders, Buckhannon Sisters, Elkins Elders, Elkins Sisters, Philippi Senior) is the most effective District in the mission! How cool is that?

After Zone Meeting, The amazing C family texted us and told us to come over so we can talk to this family friend of theirs named JD. He wasn't really interested at all, until we mentioned the stop smoking workshop to him. That got him pretty intrigued. We gave him our phone number, and he told us he would call and invite us to dinner sometime. If that works out that will be pretty awesome.

Saturday was fun! We cut wood with Brother Loudin all morning. He has a wood furnace that heats his house, so he needs a lot of wood. After that though, we went over to see A. We had an awesome conversation about what exactly the celestial kingdom is, and how we will someday we like Heavenly Father. She was confused for most of it, but at the end she understood. It was great! While we were teaching though, we got a call from President Salisbury. Surprise! Elder Fielding is going to be a Zone Leader! Isn't that awesome? He's pretty humble about it, but it’s still pretty cool. So, I am staying in Buckhannon. Elder Fielding has been packing the last couple days, and it's kind of weird. The house is starting to feel so barren and empty.

Anyway, Sunday started the goodbyes. He said good bye to A & R, even though we are seeing them today to pick up pepperoni rolls. He said good-bye to amazing Family C, even though we are seeing them today to pick up a fanny pack that their daughter is making for Elder Fielding (he's gonna rock it). We ended the night with the wonderful L family. He said goodbye to them. We both really love that family a lot. I can tell he is going to miss them.

I hope you all had a fantastic week! I will see you all next week with a new companion by my side! That will be pretty cool! Keep writing!!! Keep praying!!! Love you all!
